On April 19th, 2021, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Researcher in the Field of Plant Biochemistry (Approval Notice).

General Field: Plant Biochemistry

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Researcher

Country of Origin: Pakistan

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Pennsylvania

Approval Notice Date: April 19th, 2021

Processing Time: 13 months

Case Summary:

Holder of a Ph.D. in plant biochemistry and molecular biology, a researcher based in Pennsylvania contracted with us to represent his I-140 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition. We successfully established his research work in the field of plant biochemistry on investigating the genetic and molecular properties of plants using biochemical assays and advanced genomic analyses in order to improve agricultural productivity and discover new medicinal properties of plants. We noted that his research work in the field has great importance as it supports the discovery of medicinal properties in plants. Thus, we affirmed filing a petition on our client’s behalf as he deserved to obtain the national interest waiver.

We prepared his case by incorporating the testimonies our client provided, his research has persuaded many of his peers in the field. He had acquired 36 citations from his 5 peer-reviewed journal articles (2 of them first-authored), 1 first-authored book, 1 first-authored book chapter, and 1 structure report. In further confirmation of his recognized expertise in the field, we mentioned that he is also active in the scientific community as a peer reviewer for highly acclaimed journals. He has already conducted numerous reviews, whereas only the best researchers in their field are invited to perform this important review work.

Furthermore, our client submitted five recommendation letters that he amassed from his fellow renowned researchers in the field. We added all the letters in his petition packet and submitted them to USCIS, proving that he has the eligibility for a national interest waiver, and his petition should be approved. According to one of our client’s recommenders:

“[Client’s] research has provided other scientists with valuable information and useful tools to continue exploring the medicinal use of plants. For these reasons, his current and future work is undoubtedly in the interest of the United States.”

Victoriously, USCIS approved our client’s EB-2 NIW petition within 13 months without any further request for evidence (RFE). We are glad that our client chose us to represent his NIW case, and we would like to thank him for associating with us and giving us this honor to be a part of his success story.
