Case Summary:

As a graduate student and graduate research assistant, our client’s impressive research portfolio demonstrates that her work is significant to the United States. North America Immigration Law Group worked diligently to prove this to the USCIS, and the EB2-NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition we filed on behalf of our client, who is an M.Sc. holder from Russia, was eventually approved.

Our client’s investigations on chemoresistance mechanisms and cancer stem cells directly contribute to the United States’ pharmaceutical industry, clinical practitioners and cancer research. According to an expert molecular biologist, who wrote a recommendation letter to support our client’s I-140 petition, “Innumerable opportunities arise for the field of oncology thanks to [Client’s] research contributions. Due to the fact that cancer is the second most frequent cause of death in the United States, contributions to the advancement of our knowledge of this type of disease are invaluable as we work toward developing treatment options and saving lives.” This letter, along with several others, was submitted to the USCIS as proof of our client’s impact within her field. To reinforce her case, we also included her citation and publication record, which, at the time of filing stood at 539 citations and 9 publications.

Despite our thorough presentation, the USCIS issued a Request for Evidence (RFE). Throughout this process, we communicated with the USCIS on our client’s behalf. We even raised a service request. Our efforts resulted in an approval notice almost 14 months after we filed the petition.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our client, and to thank her for selecting our firm to represent her NIW case.
