Case Summary:

A gifted assistant professor immersed in the field of industrial engineering hired North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) to help him navigate the complex green card process. After carefully reviewing our client’s qualifications, we agreed with him that his green card case should be filed under the EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) visa category.

We used our client’s publication and citation record as evidence that he is a respected leader in his field of industrial engineering. His 5 peer-reviewed journal articles and 1 peer-reviewed conference paper had gathered two dozen citations at the time of filing. We also carefully reviewed and detailed our client’s research on developing innovative analytical and computational methods for advancing manufacturing applications including nano-manufacturing and energy production. We demonstrated that his work is of great value to the United States manufacturing industry and economy as it creates jobs for both low-skilled and high-skilled workers. We also convinced the USCIS that only a scant handful of researchers with similar skillsets can garner the same level of success as our client.

To further strengthen our EB-2 NIW petition, we counseled our client to persuade expert industrial engineers to provide us with strong testimonials. Six experts agreed to lend a hand, and the recommendation letters they provided were incorporated into our well-thought-out petition packet and submitted to the USCIS. Here are several excerpts:

  • “As a fellow researcher in [Client’s] field, I can say without a doubt that allowing him to continue his research within the United States is instrumental to ensuring that the country remains adept at industrial engineering and advanced manufacturing.”
  • “[Client] is a prominent member of a field that influences the production of a number of different technologies and products common throughout the country.”
  • “[Client] is uniquely skilled in his area of study and his educational and professional background has provided him with the training necessary to continue advancing the field of industrial engineering.”

We recently helped our client with the final step of the green card process: filing the I-485 application. Once this is approved, our client will become an American permanent resident. We thank our client for selecting us to represent his case, and we join him as he awaits good news from the USCIS.
