Case Summary:

In this EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) case, North America Immigration Law Group filed an I-140 on behalf of a teaching assistant/doctoral candidate from Iran. Our client has two master’s degrees (one in mathematics and the other in computer science) and is currently conducting research on data mining and analysis of large datasets, with a specific focus on extracting information from raw social network and genomic data. Although he had strong credentials, he needed our help to present a solid EB-2 NIW case to the USCIS.

In our well-thought-out petition packet, we established that our client’s research is contributing to the United States technology and information sector by allowing for greater utilization of social networks to gather valuable information relevant to multiple American industries. We also included various aspects of his research portfolio, namely his 7 publications and nearly 100 citations of his work. Moreover, we incorporated five recommendation letters that our client collected from specialists in his field of computer science. One of these experts wrote this about our client: “I find it distinctly in the national interest of the United States to retain such a knowledgeable and skilled individual as [Client]. I fully endorse him without reservations as he is a valuable component of our scientific community whose work is important for furthering medical developments and meeting key American public health objectives.”

The USCIS responded to out meticulous presentation by approving our client’s EB-2 NIW petition three and a half months after we filed the case. We congratulate our client on this occasion and wish him well in his continued research.
