Success Stories: Postdoctoral Fellow in the Field of Immunology with 35 Citations Receives NIW Petition Approval

Client’s Testimonial:

“Wow. [This is] great news. Thank you so much for all the effort you have put. You are great. I will [definitely] recommend your firm and I have already referred a couple of guys to your firm.”

On February 23rd, 2016, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Field of Immunology (Approval Notice).

General Field: Immunology

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Fellow

Country of Origin: Egypt

Service Center: Texas Service Center (TSC)

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Louisiana

Approval Notice Date: February 23rd, 2016

Processing Time: 3 months, 5 days

Case Summary:

A postdoctoral fellow from Egypt initiated the help of North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) when he decided to become an American permanent resident via EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver). Our client, whose area of study is immunology, conducts research on the link between viral infections and the onset of chronic fatigue syndrome, as well as on strategies to increase the effectiveness of tuberculosis and Pneumocystis vaccines. Amongst other things, he is well- known for proving a link between Parvovirus B19 and chronic fatigue syndrome, and has developed a tuberculosis vaccine that vastly outperforms the standard vaccine—both of which are crucial to the health and well-being of all Americans.

Citation & Publication Record:

Besides chronicling our client’s many research projects, we also documented his citation and publication record. When we filed our client’s NIW case, he had published 2 scientific journal articles, and his work had gathered 35 citations. Our well-balanced petition packet also highlighted his academic qualifications by including a copy of his doctoral degree and transcripts.

Recommendation Letters:

To make our client’s case even stronger, we advised our client to reach out to other experts in his field of immunology and request for recommendation letters. Six of the experts whom he contacted agreed to lend their support, and their letters furnished us with additional proof that our client is an asset to the United States. Here are a couple of excerpts:

  • “There can be no doubt that [Client’s] contributions in the future will be at least as significant as his contributions in the past if he is allowed to continue his research in the United States.”
  • “[Client] is a researcher unlike any other. His singular aptitude for research success is exceedingly rare, and there are simply no substitutes for his participation.”

Favorable Outcome:

A little over three months after we filed the EB-2 NIW case on our client’s behalf, Texas Service Center issued both parties a notice stating that the case had been approved. We congratulate our client on getting a step closer to his green card, and we wish him well as he progresses his field of immunology.
