Case Summary:

Holder of an M.B.B.S. degree, our client is an exceptional Postdoctoral Research Associate in the field of public health. Initially, he contacted us for his NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition, and our knowledgeable attorneys carefully examined his prior records and customized a petition package to meet his requirements.

We began by successfully claiming that his remarkable research focuses on cancer research, which has greatly advanced national interest through his valuable contributions to the collaborative Global Burden of Disease studies. His research on noncommunicable diseases and mental health addresses some of the most pressing issues of our nation and the world, including a greater understanding of the risk factors, prevalence, and outcomes of chronic diseases such as cancer and heart disease, as well as mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety disorders.

In August 2023, we submitted his NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition to USCIS, which was approved almost within 2 months. Thanks to USCIS’s premium processing service—a paid alternative that enables petitioners to enjoy fast adjudication within 15 days instead of 9–12 months—our client’s excellent petition package was adjudicated swiftly and successfully.

A month after NIW approval, our client, impressed by our committed effort on his NIW petition, hired us again to file an I-140 EB1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) visa petition. We were aware of his exceptional scientific background; thus, we chose to take up his EB1A application. We discussed the 44 peer-reviewed scientific articles, 2 accepted papers, and 5 book chapters he published in some of the most discerning, high-impact journals in the field, which altogether earned 8,589 citations, demonstrating the impact that he has had on his peers and colleagues. In addition, he has completed 55 reviews thus far, indicating his active and sincere participation in evaluating the work of other specialists in the field of public health.

Our client has also received recognition and funding support from various major organizations, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Brien Holden Vision Institute, Sightsavers International, Fondation Théa, Fred Hollows Foundation, and Lions Clubs International Foundation, for their contributions to the Global Burden of Disease studies. His research has also received funding from the Ministry of Ayush of the Government of India and the Department of Atomic Energy of the Government of India. This funding helps to protect the country’s public health and reduce the burden of disease. Therefore, his research helps to increase information for developing effective strategies to combat non-communicable diseases on a global scale.

When we submitted our client’s research documentation and letters of recommendation from renowned professionals in his field, attesting to his exceptional research abilities, he received his EB1A approval in just 13 days, another expedited service by the premium processing service upgrade.

We are glad that we could convey to USCIS that through the dissemination and implementation of his research, the entire nation would reap its benefits. We are delighted to have provided USCIS with all the relevant information regarding our client’s research, which would be tremendously beneficial to the United States in its continued efforts to reduce the risk of diabetes and diabetic complications in women. This year, we have had two wonderful approval stories (NIW and EB1A) in a row, and we wish our client all the best in his future endeavors.
