On October 17th, 2013 we received another EB-1B (Outstanding Researcher or Professor) Approval for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the field of Mathematics with only 20 citations  (Approval Notice)

General Field: Mathematics

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Assistant Professor

Petitioner: University

Country of Origin: China

Service Center: Nebraska Service Center

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Rhode Island

Approval Notice Date: October 17th, 2013

Processing Time: 6 weeks

Case Summary:

The average processing time for I-140 cases is 4-6 months. But on many occasions, we have cases approved far faster than the average processing time. In this instance, the case was approved in only 6 weeks.

This approval was for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the field of Mathematics. The beneficiary’s outstanding ability, highly skilled background, and impressive record of achievement provided a strong case for her EB-1B petition. Through extensive documentation we demonstrated that she had made contributions of major significance to her field. Specifically, we demonstrated how her work had helped to develop a better understanding of the fundamental laws of physical existence, thereby informing the course of research in nearly every other scientific field. We also provided evidence that at the time of filing, her work had resulted in 7 peer-reviewed articles and 20 citations, demonstrating her wide-spread impact on her field as well as the national and international acclaim for her work. Since the field of mathematics has a low citation climate, we used that fact as further evidence of the significance of her 20 citations. Additionally, the beneficiary’s expertise had been relied upon as a peer reviewer for at least 12 manuscripts for a database covering the world’s foremost mathematical research literature.

In order to meet the requirements for an EB-1B, we also submitted extensive evidence about the petitioner, including an employment letter verifying the beneficiary’s tenure-track Assistant Professor position with the university. We successfully proved that the beneficiary met the requirements to qualify as an “Outstanding Professor or Researcher,” given the international recognition for her outstanding achievements and that the petitioner met the requirements to sponsor her EB-1B petition. As a result of our strategy, the petition was swiftly approved in just 6 weeks.
