Case Summary:

In this case, the client that North America Immigration Law Group - WeGreened.com had the opportunity to work with was a Postdoctoral Research Associate from Singapore.  His work had focused specifically on the role that intracellular zinc homeostasis and signaling play in attenuating the pathophysiological damage caused by Acute Lung Injury (ALI).  We successfully demonstrated that his continued employment in the field would benefit those in his field, as well as the citizens of the United States at large. In order for our client’s case to be successful, we submitted extensive documentation proving his highly significant contributions to his field, including 4 peer-reviewed journal articles and numerous conference papers. These publications had been cited at least 14 times at the time of case filing by researchers around the world, demonstrating that these publications are widely recognized and relied upon in the field.  The intrinsic merit of his work was confirmed in the following quote from an independent recommender, “[He] was the first scientist to show that nanomolar zinc concentrations resulted in >50% inhibition of caspase-3 activity. I cannot overstate the value of this finding for my field of specialization, as this work provides a breakthrough in understanding the underlying mechanism by which zinc inhibits apoptosis. This finding suggests that caspase-3 and its interactions with zinc can be a therapeutic target for drug development aimed at preventing or limiting the pulmonary endothelial dysfunction associated with ALI, a disorder which kills 80,000 Americans each year.”  Through extensive documentation, we were able to successfully argue that our client would serve the national interest to a significantly greater degree than others with similar education and experience. His NIW petition was approved in 6 months and 11 days.
