In this case North America Immigration Law Group had the opportunity to work with a postdoctoral researcher from China whose work focused on genetic and molecular biological research on cancer and ulcerative colitis. Her 13 peer-reviewed journal articles had received no less than 146 citations by the time we filed her case, demonstrating the high significance of her work, which is widely recognized and relied upon by the other members of her field, most of whom are independent researchers distributed across the globe. Through extensive documentation, we were able to successfully argue that our client would serve the national interest to a significantly greater degree than others with similar education and experience. We showed that her continued employment in the field would benefit those in her field, as well as the citizens of the United States at large. An independent recommender attested to the significance of her work: “[Client] has demonstrated not only a masterful understanding of current cancer research, but also an ability to challenge the current literature with her own innovative studies, so I believe I am justified in stating that she is in the top percentiles of researchers in this critical area of medical study.” With the extensive documentation we provided, her NIW petition was approved in seven months and thirteen days.
