Success Stories: EB-1A Petition Approved (RFE received) for Florida-based Postdoctoral Researcher in the Field of Chemical Engineering

Client’s Testimonial:

"I really appreciate your team's great help and support to my case."

On February 8th, 2017, we received another EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) approval for a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Field of Chemical Engineering (Approval Notice).

General Field: Chemical Engineering

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Researcher

Country of Origin: China

Service Center: Texas Service Center (TSC)

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Florida

Approval Notice Date:  February 8th, 2017

Processing Time: 100 days (Premium Processing requested)

Case Summary:

A Florida-based postdoctoral researcher hired North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) to help him secure an EB-1A petition approval. A Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering obtained from his birth country of China, coupled with specialized and extensive research focused on the development of novel porous materials, the investigation of supercritical fluid technologies and light weight thermoplastic materials, all contributed to the exemplary and exceptional credentials of our client.

After evaluating his qualifications, we were convinced that our client deserved to be granted permanent residency in the United States and therefore, we directed our efforts into helping him obtain a highly sought after EB1A approval. Our job was to prove to the USCIS that the United States undoubtedly benefits from our client's technical know-how on the various aspects of improving industrial manufacturing procedures and renewable energy production.

Our client’s credentials:

We highlighted our client’s various achievements such as the 18 peer-reviewed journal articles and 1 book chapter under his authorship as well as the 39 peer reviews he had conducted for high-impact scientific journals. Furthermore, we listed the 112 times his findings were cited by other researchers. The aforementioned achievements painted a clear picture of our client's high ranking in the field of chemical engineering.

An important element of our client’s EB-1A petition was the presentation of recommendation letters signed by other influential members of the scientific community. These 6 letters were contributed by experts in the field of chemical engineering and they attested to the importance and significance of our client’s contributions. According to one of these letters: “…. [Client], a researcher with a remarkably strong track record in the field of chemical engineering. [Client] has completed excellent research work throughout his career, relating to some of the most central topics in the field. Some of his most important contributions have involved the development of a novel supercritical fluid technology for production of advanced materials.” The words of recommendation by these experts reflected the influential standing our client has garnered within the chemical engineering research community.

Responding to the RFE:

Our client decided to file his petition using Premium Processing (PP) in the hopes of speeding up the overall timeline. However, the USCIS issued a Request for Evidence (RFE) which our professional team responded to in a quick and effective manner. Although the RFE significantly lengthened the overall adjudication timeline, our team's efficient follow-up of the case led to its approval. This EB-1A petition approval underlines NAILG’s outstanding record of helping our clients accomplish their goal of obtaining I-140 petition approval. We congratulate our client and thank him for working with us.
