Case Summary:

A private American company agreed to sponsor one of its employees (an application scientist from China) in his bid to obtain a green card. This employee then hired North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) to help with the first step of the green card process: filing an I-140 petition. Based on his credentials and the fact that he opted for an employer-sponsored category, we filed our client’s petition under EB-1B (Outstanding Professors and Researchers). These are some of the petition’s key highlights:

  1. We noted our client’s 7 peer-reviewed scientific articles and 3 conference papers as well as the 114 citations gathered from his work.
  2. Our client’s peer review experience (7 reviews conducted for several scientific journals) was also noted.
  3. An important aspect of our client’s EB-1B petition had to do with his research in the field of materials science. Thanks to the comprehensive research summary which our client provided us, we were able to determine that his work has great scientific and industrial advantages. We proved this to the USCIS by detailing our client’s work on the development and implementation of novel optical nanospectroscopy instruments.
  4. We also helped our client select six of his peers to contribute recommendation letters. As recommendation letters play a very important role in paving the way for petition approval, we made sure that our client’s recommenders were familiar with his publications and/or had worked with him. According to one of these recommenders—a prominent professor—our client is “…a highly respected researcher in his discipline because the breadth of his knowledge in photonics and nanomaterials is only matched by the depth of his acumen in every individual facet of his sub-fields. Only a handful of academics can boast such an accomplished record, and his advances in these fields serve as a veritable guarantee of the high quality of the work he will continue to produce in the coming years.”
Just 13 days after we filed our client’s EB-1B petition under Premium Processing, he received notification of case approval. We congratulate our client and wish him the best as he and his spouse embark on the final leg of the green card journey (filing I-485 applications) with the help of our D.I.Y. Packet. We thank them for working with us and look forward to updates.
