Case Summary:

Nearly 9 months after North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) filed the second EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) petition for a postdoctoral fellow from China (the first one was denied), the USCIS granted their approval. With many years of experience in the field of neurology, our client had various achievements to show for his work. Here are some of the achievements which we chose to focus on in his EB1A petition:

  1. We highlighted our client’s expertise in the field by detailing the 80 times he assessed the work of his peers for scientific journals. As journals only invite the cream of the crop to judge the work of others, our client’s impressive peer review experience spoke volumes regarding his respected status as a neurologist.
  2. Our client’s 40 publications and the 270 citations gathered from his work were also detailed.
  3. Of course, we paid special attention on his work the adverse programming effects of certain perinatal stresses, such as maternal smoking and maternal hypoxia, on disease susceptibility in the offspring of such mothers, particularly in relation to neurological diseases such as neonatal hypoxia ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) and to common cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension. As part of our comprehensive services, we proved that his findings address some of the US’ most important issues on DNA methylation, epigenetics, brain functional activation and protein expression in mood disorders, and the role of maternal risk factors in elevating disease susceptibility in neonates, among other areas.
“[Client’s] research successes far exceed those of others with comparable education and experience; it would be very difficult if not impossible to replace him with an equally-qualified researcher, as he has proven himself to be unmatched in this line of important investigation.”

The quote above was taken from one of the 9 recommendation letters incorporated into our client’s EB1A petition. These letters contained strong statements that supported the approval of our client’s EB1A petition and we have no doubt that they lent a hand in case approval.

We congratulate our client for finally obtaining EB1A approval, and we wish him the best as he continues to progress the important field of neurology. We also wish him well as he adjusts his status for permanent residence.
