On January 14th, 2016, we received another EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) approval for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Field of Neuroscience (Approval Notice).

General Field: Neuroscience

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Fellow

Country of Origin: India

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Tennessee

Approval Notice Date: January 14th, 2016

Processing Time: 9 months, 6 days (Premium Processing requested)

Case Summary:

With a Master’s in Neuroscience and a Ph.D. in Psychology from one of the most prestigious research institutions in the United States, our client has an extraordinary educational background. However, advanced degrees alone are not sufficient for an I-140 approval, and North America Immigration Law Group worked diligently to put together an EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) petition that reflected our client’s contributions to the field as well as the value of his work to the United States.

Our client’s research focuses on drug discovery and determining the preclinical therapeutic effectiveness of drugs that target mental disorders and cognitive deficits, and his work allows medical practitioners across the United States to better understand how the human brain functions under extreme duress.

Enclosed in the petition packet were our client’s citation record, information on his publications, and details on his experience assessing the work of other neuroscientists. The petition also included letters of recommendation from experts in his field, all of whom expressed support for his continued research in the country. As with all of our other clients, we helped this client select and contact potential recommenders, one of whom wrote, “The wealth of knowledge neuroscientists hold thanks to [Client’s] research allows them to more effectively understand and prepare treatment therapies for humans who suffer from blindness, the loss of limbs, and other forms of enforced, developmental sensory deprivation. This is particularly important for pharmacology and drug discovery, and demonstrates the widespread influence of [Client’s] work.”

Our client, a postdoctoral fellow from India, wanted to accelerate the adjudication of his I-140 and requested for Premium Processing eight months after we filed his case. Two weeks later, the USCIS informed us that they had approved his petition. We offer our congratulations to our client and wish him the best in his research.
