Success Stories: EB-1A Petition Approved in 7 Days for Postdoctoral Fellow from China with 98 Citations in the Field of Molecular Biology

Client’s Testimonial:

“Thank you very much! I will highly recommend you to my colleagues!”

On July 28th, 2017, we received another EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) approval for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Field of Molecular Biology (Approval Notice).

General Field: Molecular Biology

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Fellow

Country of Origin: China

Service Center: Texas Service Centre (TSC)

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Texas

Approval Notice Date: July 31st, 2017

Processing Time: 7 Days (Premium Processing Requested)

Case Summary:

Our client, a postdoctoral fellow based in Texas, specializes in the molecular mechanisms of disease and understanding how immunological and disease activities are regulated. Several years ago, she hired North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) to file an EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition on her behalf and thanks to her improved credentials, she qualified to file an EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) petition nearly 2 years later. EB1A approval would allow her to move on to the final step of the green card process (filing an I-485 application) without having to wait years for her priority date to become current (which she would have had to do with her approved NIW).

To build a convincing EB1A case for our client, we had to prove that she possesses extraordinary ability in her field of molecular biology. We did this by incorporating details of her sterling record of publication that was composed of 1 book chapter and 8 peer-reviewed scientific articles. We also noted that her publications had amassed a total of 98 citations at the time of filing. To further strengthen her case, we listed the 18 peer reviews that she had conducted for a handful of acclaimed scientific journals.

In addition to that were the 6 recommendation letters contributed by eminent scientists in the field who testified to her outstanding work. They discussed the importance of her research and how it helps in understanding the regulation of immunological and disease activities. One of the recommenders wrote: “It is no exaggeration to say that [Client] is an especially influential member of the physiology research community here in the United States.”

Merely 7 days after we filed our client’s EB1A petition with Premium Processing (PP), she received notice of case approval, which brought her closer to US permanent residence. We congratulate her for coming this far in the green card process and we wish her luck as she undertakes the final step of filing an I-485 application.
