Country of Origin: India

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Ohio
Approval Notice Date: September 6th, 2016
Processing Time: 7 months, 18 days
Case Summary:
Exactly 7 months and 18 days after North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) filed an EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) petition on behalf of a gifted physician from India, the USCIS approved her case. At the time of filing, our client had already amassed a myriad of accolades that highlighted her leadership role in the field of cardiology. We included these achievements in her EB-1A petition packet. These included, but were not limited to:
- Her publication record: We noted our client’s 14 peer-reviewed scientific articles, five review papers, and numerous conference presentations at national and international conferences. We demonstrated that our client’s work is being disseminated amongst other researchers in the field, allowing others to progress not just their work, but the field as a whole.
- Her citation count: When we filed the case, our client’s work had collected a staggering 605 citations. We used Google Scholar to confirm this number and proved to the USCIS that our client’s work is of great important to other researchers both within and outside the US.
- Her peer review experience: As only top researchers in their respective fields are invited to judge the work of their peers, our client’s record of 20 peer reviews conducted for various scientific journals (with high impact factor) was another example that proved her high standing in the field.
- Recommendation letters contributed by her peers: Not long after our client retained our EB-1A services, we encouraged her to obtain recommendation letters from a handful of her peers. We needed other medical experts to confirm that her presence conducting research in the US is important to the nation. To our delight, our client returned with four letters, one of which contained this statement: “Given her accomplishments, it is quite clear that [Client] is one of the most talented medical scientists in the world right now.”
