Case Summary:

A visiting research associate from China hired North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) to help him overcome the first hurdle in the green card process: obtaining I-140 petition approval. After analyzing his credentials, we determined that we could file his petition under EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability). In order to obtain EB1A approval, we had to prove that our client’s work is of great importance to the US and that he possesses extraordinary ability in his field of bioinformatics.

First of all, we urged our client to obtain evidence of his high standing in his field by means of recommendation letters. We helped him select six recommenders (other experts working in the field who were familiar with his research) and incorporated their letters into his petition dossier. According to one of these experts: “Advances in efficient fuel and chemical production are critical to progress in responsible resource deployment. Unfortunately, few individuals are capable of the kind of research to which [Client] has devoted his time and energy. His aptitude for groundbreaking work in genomics is exceedingly rare, and there are simply no substitutes for his participation.”

Alongside these letters stood additional evidence of our client’s skills as a bioinformatics expert. We listed the 221 citations gathered from his 13 publications and the 40 times he judged the work of his peers.

Exactly 2 weeks after we filed our client’s well-organized EB1A petition, he decided to upgrade his case to Premium Processing (PP). This is an option offered by the USCIS that guarantees action will be taken on a case within 15 calendar days. As promised, our client received notification of case approval merely 12 days after the upgrade. We are pleased that the USCIS saw the merits in our client’s work on applying advanced bioinformatics methods to analyze genomic and proteomic data. We congratulate our client for attaining petition approval, and we wish him well as he continues to conduct groundbreaking research in the US.
