“Thanks a lot for your tremendous helps on my case from the beginning to the point of getting I-140 approval.”

On March 19th, 2018, we received another EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) approval for a Petroleum System Analyst in the Field of Geosciences (Approval Notice).

General Field: Geosciences

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Petroleum System Analyst

Country of Origin: China

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Texas

Approval Notice Date: March 19th, 2018

Processing Time: 115 Days (Premium Processing Requested)

Case Summary:

A petroleum system analyst from China hired North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) when he decided that he wanted to get one step closer to US permanent residency. He knew that our firm provides comprehensive advice surrounding each client’s petition and that we have firsthand information of any changes the USCIS makes in adjudicating cases. Moreover, we also advise our clients on the best timing to file their cases as well as the best strategy to secure petition approval.

Although we were initially retained for EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver), our client wanted to file another I-140 petition to increase his chances of securing petition approval. After analyzing his credentials, we confirmed that he also qualified for EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability).

Despite being retained for both NIW and EB1A, we filed the latter first and received notification of case approval within 115 days of filing. Although our client’s EB1A petition received a Request for Evidence (RFE), our team efficiently responded to it, which subsequently led to petition approval.

What did the EB1A petition contain?

Amongst other things, we included information on our client’s work in the field of geosciences, particularly his research on comprehensive geological and geochemical analyses of petroleum-bearing source rocks to characterize important source properties, evaluate oil and gas potential from these source rocks, and computationally predict petroleum generation and migration. We also noted the 100 times his 8 publications were cited, along with the 27 times he judged the work of his peers.

An important part of our client’s customized EB1A petition had to do with the six recommendation letters signed by other expert geoscientists. These influential researchers advocated for the approval of our client’s petition by stating the various ways in which his work is important to the US. They also discussed our client’s projects and their significance to the field. According to one of these recommenders:  “With his professional experience and proven research ability, [Client] stands ready to offer the American petroleum industry the best in geochemical research. He has merited a place at the forefront of the petroleum-related geoscience studies.”

We congratulate our client for obtaining EB1A petition approval, and we wish him the best as he adjusts his status for permanent residence by filing an I-485 application.
