Case Summary:

With a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and extensive experience working in the same field, our client had applicable qualifications to file his I-140 petition under EB-1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability). Merely 11 days after we filed the petition on his behalf, the USCIS took action on his case and granted their approval. Our client is now one step closer to his green card.

Compiling the relevant information:

It took North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) approximately 7 months to put together a solid EB-1A case for our client. Amongst other things, the petition was comprised of his citation count and publication record, which stood at 334 and 18 respectively at the time of filing. It also contained details on the 31 times he judged the work of his peers. We used these numbers to establish the significance of our client’s findings to the field of electrical engineering and also to convince the USCIS that he is an important member of the scientific community both in the U.S. and abroad.

Additionally, we persuaded our client to reach out to several of his peers for recommendation letters. The five letters that he obtained were all volunteered by distinguished professors in the field, one of whom stated that “[Client] has consistently generated novel and resourceful, yet practical solutions for difficult, longstanding problems in the field, and his unvarying record of success secures his place among the preeminent electrical engineers at the forefront of a fast-paced and competitive field. It is with great conviction, therefore, that I endorse the continuation of [Client's] research.”

In order to better understand our client’s research focus, we also reviewed the research summary which he sent to us. Based on that, we determined that his findings on nanophotonics, and plasmonics are applied in U.S. telecommunications, renewable energy, and ultrahigh-resolution imaging. In our presentation to the USCIS, we demonstrated that our client is an exceptional scientist who possesses the knowledge and skills needed to conduct cutting-edge research that will continue to benefit the nation.

Becoming an American permanent resident:

There is no denying that attaining a green card is not easy but with our help, our client is now significantly closer to accomplishing his goal. We congratulate him on this milestone and wish him the best as he and his wife embark on the final leg of the green card journey: filing I-485 applications.
