Client’s Testimonial:

I am so happy to know that my I-140 is approved! Thank you so much for your help!

On March 5th, 2014 we received another EB1-A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) Approval for a Senior Optical Engineer in the field of Optical Engineering (Approval Notice)

General Field: Optical Engineering

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Senior Optical Engineer in Research and Development

National Origin:  China

Service Center: Nebraska Service Center (NSC)

State of Residence at the Time of Filing:  California

Approval Notice Date: March 5, 2014

Processing Time:  6 months, 5 days

Case Summary:

The client in this case was a senior optical engineer in research and development from China in the field of optical engineering. Her work had primarily focused on the design and fabrication of femtosecond lasers for application in the biomedical, entertainment, law enforcement, military, and environmental fields.  Her work had resulted in at least 11 peer-reviewed scientific articles and, at the time that her case was filed, her publications had accumulated at least 180 citations, clearly demonstrating that she had influenced her field and garnered international acclaim.  In addition, she had conducted at least 22 paper reviews for journals related to the field of optical engineering by the time we filed her case. Of her accomplishments, one of her independent recommenders remarked, “Finding novel ways to improve such highly advanced technologies as OCT and Fourier transform spectroscopy requires unique talents. The applications of these technologies are clear. With their uses in such areas as art conservation and diagnostic medicine, and other scanning intensive applications, [her] innovations stand to improve the accuracy and precision of such devices, necessarily improving their ability to perform the work they were designed to do, with implications far too wide and multifaceted to discuss fully in a short recommendation.” It was our goal to prove that our client qualified for classification as an Alien of Extraordinary Ability given that she sought to remain in the United States to continue work in the area of optical engineering, and that her continued research would substantially and prospectively benefit the United States. With the proof and documentation that we provided, her case was approved in just over 6 months.
