Case Summary:
The client that we had the opportunity to work with in this case was a Postdoctoral Researcher from China in the field of nanomechanics. His research on the mechanical behavior of engineering systems, consisting of semiconductor nanowires, carbon nanotube networks, graphene nanoribbons, and microtissues had been recognized nationally and internationally. His work had resulted in at least 21 peer-reviewed scientific articles, numerous presentations at national and international conferences, and 1 book chapter. At the time that his case was filed, these publications been cited at least 115 times by researchers around the world, clearly demonstrating that he had influenced his field and garnered international acclaim. In addition, he had reviewed at least 52 papers for journals related to his field by the time we filed his case. Of his accomplishments, one of his independent recommenders testified, “[His] record clearly shows him as a researcher who is dynamic, celebrated, and extremely relevant to today’s industry. It is rare to see such a great number of accomplishments on a young scientist’s CV, but these are [his] accomplishments, and they are considerable. [He] is viewed in the field as a visionary pioneer whose work in establishing morphologies for the better design of nanowires is known throughout the world.” It was our goal to prove that our client qualified for classification as an Alien of Extraordinary Ability given that he sought to remain in the United States to continue work in the area of nanomechanics, and that his continued research would substantially and prospectively benefit the United States. With the proof and documentation that we provided, his case was approved in just 33 days.
