Case Summary:

This client came to us for assistance after having received a RFE. He was a research scientist from India in the field of molecular and cellular biology. He was one of the world’s leading experts on the molecular mechanisms of the intracellular signaling pathways that contribute to the growth of breast and ovarian cancer cells in humans. His work had resulted in at least 16 peer-reviewed scientific articles in leading journals.  At the time that his case was filed, his publications had accumulated at least 346 citations, clearly demonstrating that he had influenced his field and garnered international acclaim.  In addition, he had reviewed 10 manuscripts for 5 journals. Of his accomplishments, one of his recommenders remarked, “. . . [client] has also made significant scientific contributions to understanding the mechanisms of ovarian theca cell hyperplasia and hyperthecosis. He was first to discover LH-mediated activation of mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling in ovarian theca cells. Furthermore, he also identified a major role for this signaling pathway in androgen synthesis. His research has tremendous implications for drug development against hyperandrogenesim and hyperthecosis.” It was our goal to prove that our client qualified for classification as an Alien of Extraordinary Ability given that he sought to remain in the United States to continue work in the area of molecular and cellular biology, and that his continued research would substantially and prospectively benefit the United States. With the proof and documentation that we provided, his case was approved just 4 days after we responded to the RFE.
