In this case we were offered the opportunity to work with an Israeli electrical engineer in a postdoctoral research position, who had focused specifically on signal processing, hyperspectral imaging, computer vision, and machine learning. As part of our successful strategy for our client’s case, we submitted extensive documentation proving his highly significant contributions to his field, which included 11 peer-reviewed journal articles and numerous conference papers and presentations. This work had received at least 78 citations by the time we filed his case, nearly all of which were by independent researchers around the world, demonstrating the wide recognition of and reliance upon our client’s work in his field. We also showed that his continued employment in his field would benefit both his field as a whole and the people of the United States in general. An independent recommender confirmed the importance of his work: “As technology advances, it is necessary that researchers are able to identify such patterns and dependencies in data to extract information useful to their endeavors. … This requires structure learning schemes, the likes of the one [Client] has developed… [Client’s] work is therefore at the forefront of refining our comprehension of deep-learning for time-series prediction of complex, high-dimensional data.” We successfully argued that our client would serve the national interest to a significantly greater degree than others with similar education and experience. His NIW petition was approved in four months and seven days.
