Case Summary:

In this case, the client that North America Immigration Law Group - WeGreened.com had the pleasure of working with was a Postdoctoral Fellow from Bolivia.  His work had focused specifically on improving methods for the synthesis of carbon nanotubes (CNTs), allowing for their greater industrial use and application. We successfully demonstrated that his continued employment in the field would benefit those in his field, as well as the citizens of the United States at large. In order for our client’s case to be successful, we submitted extensive documentation proving his highly significant contributions to his field, including 12 peer-reviewed journal articles, 1 peer-reviewed first-author book chapter, and numerous conference papers, in addition to 4 patents. At the time we filed his case, these publications had been cited at least 177 times byresearchers around the world, nearly all of which were by independent researchers, demonstrating that these publications are widely recognized and relied upon in the field.  The influence of his work was confirmed in the following quote from an independent recommender, “The impact of discoveries related to lightweight structures for space applications is expected to be felt in many sectors of society as well, just as carbon fiber composites, which were originally designed for aerospace use, now find applications ranging from sporting goods to automotives. […] As a result of his training under some of the world leaders in carbon nanotechnology, [he] provides continuity in American technical excellence and leadership in the area of nanotechnology, one of the most competitive research arenas that contribute to the United States' global leadership in advanced technologies. This technology sector is so vital to American interest that the Office of Science and Technology Policy has directed Federal Agencies to maintain nanotechnology as a critical research area.”  Through extensive documentation, we were able to successfully argue that our client would serve the national interest to a significantly greater degree than others with similar education and experience. His NIW petition was approved in 5 months and 22 days.
