Client’s Testimonial:
“Thank you for promptly working on my case and getting it approved.”
On March 30th, 2022, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Field of Materials Science (Approval Notice).
General Field: Materials Science
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Country of Origin: South Korea
Country of Residence at the Time of Filing: Canada
Approval Notice Date: March 30th, 2022
Processing Time: 2 months, 20 days
Case Summary:
The NIW or the National Interest Waiver visa is a subcategory of non-immigrant visas for those individuals who can prove that their research work is of national interest to the United States of America. So when any petitioner approaches us seeking help with an NIW case, we make sure to include relevant data to prove his inherent worth to the country. This means looking at his CVs, transcripts, certificates, letters of recommendation, etc.
So when an expert in the field of materials science from South Korea came to us for his case filing, we took care to say the following in his petition:
- We showed that he wanted to continue his research characterizing the material properties of industrial materials using advanced electron microscopy techniques, data analysis approaches, and mechanical analysis methods in order to enable the design and development of materials with improved strength, safety, and performance.
- We showed that his research has resulted in 7 peer-reviewed journal articles (4 of them first-authored) and 1 technical report.
- That these publications have been cited a total of 115 times according to Google Scholar.
- We also showed evidence of his major funding sources such as the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, which proved that since his work has received funding from national and international institutions of repute, his work must be of value.
- This was further corroborated by 4 letters of support from experts, two of which stated the following:
“[The client’s] work on aluminum alloys has proven essential to other scientists, but it is also essential to the best interests of the United States. [The client’s] work is crucial not only to the U.S. economy but also to the convenience and well-being of every citizen who benefits from these materials. His work therefore positively impacts millions of U.S. citizens. [The client] represents an indispensable asset to the United States.”
This is why it was not very difficult to convince the adjudicating authorities in favor of our client. Given that his work in the field is of immense importance to the country, he is a worthy national asset for the United States of America. We are glad to have helped him and we wish him the best of luck.
