Case Summary:

The average processing time for I-140 cases is 4-6 months. But on many occasions, we have cases approved faster than the average processing time. In this instance, the case was approved in less than 2 months.

Another exceptional client that Chen Immigration Law Associates had the pleasure of working with was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow from India working in the field of materials science and engineering.  His work had focused specifically on the modeling, design optimization, and development of materials for enhanced energy storage of renewable electrical energy sources. We demonstrated that his continued employment in the field would not only benefit those in his field, but the citizens of the United States at large. To achieve success in this case, we submitted extensive documentation proving our client’s highly significant contributions to the field of materials science and engineering, including at least 20 peer-reviewed journal articles and numerous conference papers. His publications had been cited at least 50 times at the time of case filing.  Of his accomplishments, one of his independent recommenders remarked, “Increasing the capacity for energy storage technologies is vitally important for the United States, in terms of economics, health, quality of life, and competition with the rest of the world. The work of [client] focuses on the development of efficient electrical energy storage devices through the design and fabrication of novel composite materials that are exceedingly useful for a wide range of electronic devices including electric cars. He has performed impressive work with the design of advanced methods of storage electrical energy generate from renewable sources like the wind and sun.”  Through extensive documentation, we were still able to successfully argue that our client would serve the national interest to a significantly greater degree than others with similar education and experience. His NIW application was approved in just under 2 months.
