Case Summary:

The client with whom North American Immigration Law Group was privileged to work in this case was a postdoctoral research associate and sponsored affiliate in aerospace engineering from Japan, whose research focused on space situational awareness. We successfully demonstrated that his continued employment in the field would benefit the field of aerospace engineering and the populace of the United States in general. He had produced at least 5 peer-reviewed journal articles, all of them first-authored, and 26 conference papers. These publications had received a total of 83 citations at the time we filed his case, indicating the wide recognition of and reliance upon our client’s work in his field. An independent recommender discussed the novelty and utility of our client’s work: “Where existing methods have suffered from being computationally intractable and complicated, [client's] method offers a more simplified option that can be applied in many different contexts.  Scientists have long struggled with transferring cutting-edge quantification research to real-world applications, mostly due to the overwhelming computational complexity that takes a significant amount of time and power [...]. This simplifies the process a great deal, allowing for both human and computational resources to be relegated elsewhere.”Through extensive documentation, we were able to successfully argue that our client would serve the national interest to a significantly greater degree than others with similar education and experience. His NIW petition was approved in three months and twenty-six days.
