Case Summary:

North America Immigration Law Group – WeGreened.com represented an International Visiting Fellow and Research Scholar in the field of Dermatology and Dermatopathology. This client had a focus on the applications of immunostaining techniques for the development of diagnostic technology for the detection of diseases including sexually transmitted infections, human papillomavirus infection, psoriasis, and squamous or basal cell carcinomas. She had contributed towards the application of P16, PHH3, and Ki-67 immunostains. She had also contributed towards the development of non-traditional diagnostic techniques for alopecias, quantified the prevalence of Malassezia yeast in patients with inflammatory skin conditions, and evaluated the cytological features exhibited within benign and malignant cutaneous epidermal lesions. Most recently, she had contributed towards the elucidation of syphilis’ more unusual clinical manifestations. These studies had resulted in 59 peer-reviewed journal articles, 33 of which were first authored, and numerous conference papers at the time of filing her case. These publications had been cited a total of 15 times at the time of case filing. One independent recommender explained: “[Client’s] work has produced not only new diagnosing modalities but shed light on disease progression with opportunities ripe for other researchers to expound upon her findings. In addition, [Client’s] stature in the field is enhanced by the recognition she has received for her efforts recognizing aggravating factors in treating chronic cutaneous conditions, acclaim of her peers, and implementation of her work at universities and clinics worldwide. Knowing of some of the yearly congresses where [Client] has presented her work, I can confidently declare that [Client] is at the beginning of a long and fruitful career in research science that demonstrates original innovation with broad relevance to society and fundamental dermatopathology research.” This particular EB-2 NIW petition received approval 6 months after case filing.
