Case Summary:

In this case we were offered the opportunity to work with a South Korean pharmacologist, who had focused specifically on therapeutic agents for activation and modulation of the molecular processes and biological mechanisms at the root of Diabetes. As part of our successful strategy for our client’s case, we submitted extensive documentation proving her highly significant contributions to her field, which included 6 peer-reviewed journal articles and numerous conference papers and presentations.  This work had received at least 129 citations by the time we filed her case, nearly all of which were by independent researchers around the world, demonstrating the wide recognition of and reliance upon our client’s work in her field. We also showed that her continued employment in her field would benefit both her field as a whole and the people of the United States in general. An independent recommender confirmed the importance of her work: “[Client] has made significant advances in the development of treatment options for diabetes through her work on NR (nicotinamide riboside) and her investigation of protective effect NR has on such things as ROS toxicity (reactive oxygen species) and obesity. [. . .] [Client’s] research provides significant new findings that are helping to shape our country’s ability to deal with diabetes.” We successfully argued that our client would serve the national interest to a significantly greater degree than others with similar education and experience. Her NIW petition was approved in nine months and fourteen days.
