Processing Time: 7 months, 5 days
Case Summary:
North America Immigration Law Group was hired to file an EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition for an associate professor based in Turkey. We assessed his academic background and proposed research work in the field of ophthalmology. We verified that he held an M.D. in clinical and translational medicine and extensive knowledge in various fields of ophthalmology and wants to advance his work toward the development of diagnostic and therapeutic methods, products, and approaches to aid in the treatment of ocular diseases. His research work in the field is of great importance because it has already advanced the national interest through his demonstrations of the pathogenesis and progression of various conditions. His previous research addresses some of our nation’s and the world’s most pressing issues, including the prevalence of eye diseases that affect millions of people around the world.
Moreover, we added the 650 citations accumulated from the over 30 peer-reviewed scientific articles and 3 book chapters he published, influencing his peers and other expert researchers in at least 52 countries according to Google Scholar, thereby demonstrating that these publications are widely recognized and relied upon in the field of ophthalmology. We also observed that he has conducted at least 50 reviews for highly discerning journals with very stringent publishing guidelines that enlist the services of only the most accomplished researchers. These statements prove his active and actual participation as a judge of the work of other experts in the field.
We supported his built case by including four recommendation letters that he obtained from his fellow experts in the field. We attached all the letters and submitted them to the USCIS, confirming that our client is an extraordinary researcher who seeks to enter the United States to continue work in the field of ophthalmology. One of the recommenders stated:
“[Client], a remarkably talented ophthalmologist, whose ongoing efforts to enhance the treatment of ocular disease are invaluable to his field and to the United States. His work in the field is informed by his impressive academic and professional experience…. This has provided him with the experience necessary to continue making groundbreaking achievements in his field.”
USCIS was successfully convinced that our client’s work is to improve clinical practices, offering better outcomes for patients and reducing the global burden of eye diseases for millions of people here in the U.S. Thus, he was granted his EB-2 NIW approval. We thank our client for entrusting our legal firm for his NIW case as well as for retaining his EB1A petition.
