Success Stories: Despite Long Wait, a Resident Physician Secured NIW approval in the FIeld of Radiology, Now Awaits I-485 Decision
Client’s Testimonial:
"Thank you for your endless support, help, and professionalism.”
On June 29th, 2020, we received another NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Resident Physician in the Field of Radiology (Approval Notice).
General Field: Radiology
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Resident Physician
Country of Origin: Jordan
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: New York
Approval Notice Date: June 29th, 2020
Processing Time: 10 months
Case Summary:
A gifted resident physician from Jordan hired North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) to help him sort out the first portion of the green card process: the I-140 petition. After evaluating his credentials, we verified that he was a suitable candidate for EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver).
Our legal team was tasked with putting together a strong EB-2 NIW petition packet that would convince the USCIS to approve our client’s I-140 petition. We started off by counseling our client to touch base with other experts in his field of radiology and ask them to provide us with recommendation letters—we needed their support if we wanted to present an airtight case to the USCIS. Our client did not disappoint, and managed to obtain five recommendation letters. According to two of his recommenders:
“As a noted expert in nuclear medicine, medical imaging, and disease analysis, [client] is an asset to the interests of the United States and a valued member of the U.S. research community. His contributions to healthcare and medical imaging research in the United States have been largely unparalleled by even the most accomplished of his colleagues and peers.”
“[Client’s] work has repeatedly benefited ongoing medical research and healthcare around the globe. ”
With an MBBS degree and extensive experience in the field of radiology, our client’s illustrious career has led to the publication of 19 peer-reviewed journal articles (8 of them first-authored) and 1 correspondence, 44 citations to his work, and an impressive peer review record. When we filed the case, our client had already conducted 13 peer reviews on behalf of several prominent journals. We documented these achievements in our EB-2 NIW petition packet and demonstrated to the USCIS that our client is one of only a small handful of researchers who can attain such meritorious research results.Additionally, we proved that his work on cutting-edge applications of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging is of great importance because it facilitates the treatment of various diseases, disorders, and health conditions that affect millions of individuals around the globe. Furthermore, his research career has included novel studies of other prevalent conditions, including traumatic brain injuries, brain disorders, and gynecomastia, among others.
Texas Service Center spent 10 months adjudicating this case before granting their approval. We have no doubt that our well-prepared presentation and our client’s stellar credentials paved the way for speedy case approval. We join our client in celebrating this momentous occasion and wish him well with his continued investigations. We would also like to thank him for trusting us for his I-485 application and choosing us to be a part of his success story.
