In this case we were offered the opportunity to work with a Lebanese clinical researcher, who had focused specifically on advanced treatment procedures and methods for a variety of otolaryngological problems. As part of our successful strategy for our client’s case, we submitted extensive documentation proving his highly significant contributions to his field, which included 27 peer-reviewed journal articles and numerous conference papers. This work had received at least 44 citations by the time we filed his case, nearly all of which were by independent researchers around the world, demonstrating the wide recognition of and reliance upon our client’s work in his field. We also showed that his continued employment in his field would benefit both his field as a whole and the people of the United States in general. An independent recommender confirmed the importance of his work: “I don't think I could put it anymore plainly how much of an influence [Client’s] work has already had in rhinology and on my own practice. His novel findings on the relationship between CSF leaks and the sphenoid sinus led directly to my own work, which has already resolved a major clinical controversy in our field…he has developed many other novel techniques that have directly impacted the treatment options sought out by doctors and patients.” We successfully argued that our client would serve the national interest to a significantly greater degree than others with similar education and experience. His NIW petition was approved in 8 months and 12 days.
