Case Summary:

The client that North America Immigration Law Group had the opportunity to work in this case was pharmaceutical scientist from India.  His work had focused specifically on the development and improvement of novel Ocular Drug Delivery methods and means. We successfully demonstrated that his continued employment in the field would benefit those in his field, as well as the citizens of the United States at large. In order for our client’s case to be successful, we submitted extensive documentation proving his highly significant contributions to his field, including 8 peer-reviewed scientific articles, 2 patents and 9 presentations at national and international conferences. His publications had been cited at least 131 times at the time we filed the case; nearly all of the citations were by independent researchers around the world, demonstrating that these publications are widely recognized and relied upon in the field.  The importance of his work was confirmed in the following quote from an independent recommender: “[Client’s] research addresses one of the most important public health problems in the world—eye disease… While there is a vast array of available treatment options for these diseases, many of them are very expensive and require invasive or dangerous procedures that ultimately lead to even more problems for the patient. Therefore, research on the development of new and improved treatment methods is absolutely essential to the large population that suffers from eye-related diseases. [Client] has used his expertise in the field of pharmaceuticals, and particularly ocular drug delivery, to develop new methods of ocular drug administration as well as next generation drugs that are safer and more effective than current drugs on the market. Through extensive documentation, we were able to successfully argue that our client would serve the national interest to a significantly greater degree than others with similar education and experience. His NIW petition was approved in 4 months and 24 days.
