Case Summary:

Another exceptional client that Chen Immigration Law Associates had the pleasure of working with was an Assistant Project Scientist from India with extensive experience in protein biochemistry who specialized in drug discovery and had been involved in a number of highly publicized pioneering studies in the field. This client wished to seek continued employment in the field of drug discovery. We at Chen Immigration Law Associates demonstrated that his continued employment in the field would not only benefit those in his field, but the citizens of the United States at large. To achieve success in this case, we submitted extensive documentation proving our client’s highly significant contributions to the field of drug discovery, including at least 12 peer-reviewed articles published in leading field journals and 11 abstract presentations. These publications had been cited at least 163 times at the time of case filing.  Of his accomplishments, one of the independent recommenders remarked: “[Client] provided scientists with the first ever clear view of the drug access channel in the P450 2B family of enzymes. This is an incredible breakthrough as it had been the main focus of laboratories around the world for quite some time. Cytochrome P450 enzymes are instrumental in the metabolism of pharmaceutical drugs, and thus understanding how they operate is critical if scientists wish to develop drug treatments that have a chance to be successful.” Through extensive documentation, we at Chen Immigration Law Associates successfully argued that our client would serve the national interest to a significantly greater degree than others with similar education and experience. His NIW application was approved in 5 ½ months.
