The client that North America Immigration Law Group – WeGreened.com had the opportunity to work with in this case was a physician-scientist from Northern Europe. His work has focused specifically on cancer biology, specifically tumors of the sympathetic nervous system; molecular genetics; and epigenetics. We successfully demonstrated that his continued employment in the field would benefit those in his field, as well as the citizens of the United States at large. In order for our client’s case to be successful, we submitted extensive documentation proving his highly significant contributions to his field, including 15 peer-reviewed journal articles (6 of them first-authored) and numerous conference papers. His publications had been cited at least 427 times at the time we filed the case; nearly all of the citations were by independent researchers around the world, demonstrating that these publications are widely recognized and relied upon in the field. The importance of his work was confirmed in the following quote from an independent recommender, “The fact that [client] is both an MD and a PhD is enough to significantly separate him from many others in the field of cancer research. Physician-scientists such as [client] are a rare commodity due to the exceptional combination of dedication and analytical skills needed to obtain both a PhD and MD. Physician-scientists are critical to the biomedical research community because they serve as a bridge between theoretical pure research and clinical applications. As a matter of course, these spheres are usually quite separate in the biomedical world, a fact that can lead many researchers to pursue projects that lack any probable clinical applications and many clinicians to miss important patterns they might come across in their clinical work that could lead to breakthroughs in the lab. [Client], on the other hand, possesses the skillset to translate his clinical experience into theoretical projects and ensure that his theoretical projects he designed will translate into real-world results that will benefit patients and doctors across the country.” Through extensive documentation, we were able to successfully argue that our client would serve the national interest to a significantly greater degree than others with similar education and experience. His NIW petition was approved in 7 months and 1 day.
