Case Summary:

In this case we had the opportunity to work with an Associate Professor of Packaging Engineering from China whose efforts focused on the design of convenient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly commercial packaging options. Her work had been published in 18 peer-reviewed scientific articles, 3 book chapters, and 1 patent, with no fewer than 42 citations at the time we filed her case from independent, international researchers, reflecting the broad significance of her work. An independent recommender attests to the value of her work: “It is this concern for the health of humans and of the environment that that guided [Client] in her decision to investigate, at [Institution], the use of novel packaging materials utilizing Polymer Surface Modification. By using ultraviolet treatment in order to bond Natamycin to LDPE film, as mentioned above, [Client] is producing findings that will drastically extend the shelf life of foods and also render them safe from microbe contamination, in general.” It was our goal to demonstrate that our client’s employment in the field would benefit both the field as a whole and the national interests of the United States, to a significantly greater degree than others with similar educational and experiential qualifications. The extensive documentation we provided supported our successful argument, and our client’s NIW petition was approved in five months and thirteen days.
