The client that North America Immigration Law Group – WeGreened.com had the opportunity to work with in this case was a Postdoctoral Fellow from Russia. Her work has focused specifically on creating computational simulations for efficient calculation of the free energy landscapes of proteins and, more recently, for the analysis of genomic variants in connection to diseases. We successfully demonstrated that her continued employment in the field would benefit those in her field, as well as the citizens of the United States at large. In order for our client’s case to be successful, we submitted extensive documentation proving her highly significant contributions to her field, including 8 peer-reviewed journal articles, 1 book chapter, and numerous conference papers. Her publications had been cited at least 45 times at the time we filed the case; nearly all of the citations were by independent researchers around the world, demonstrating that these publications are widely recognized and relied upon in the field. The importance of her work was confirmed in the following quote from an independent recommender, “Her model was one of the first to illuminate membrane protein topology as regulated by its insertion through the translocon…The simulation indicated that final protein topology is affected by the insertion process itself and not by solely difference between the protein energy in solution and inside the membrane.” Through extensive documentation, we were able to successfully argue that our client would serve the national interest to a significantly greater degree than others with similar education and experience. Her NIW petition was approved in 4 months and 27 days.
