Case Summary:

In this case, the client that North America Immigration Law Group – WeGreened.com had the opportunity to work with was a Postdoctoral Fellow from Japan.  His work has focused specifically on identifying disease-specific alterations in the brain that indicate diseases like epilepsy, as well as devising effective therapies to treat these disorders. We successfully demonstrated that his continued employment in Neuroscience would benefit those in his field, as well as the citizens of the United States at large. In order for our client’s case to be successful, we submitted extensive documentation proving his highly significant contributions to his field, including 9 peer-reviewed journal articles, 3 patents, a book chapter, coverage in online media, and several conference papers and presentations. His publications had been cited at least 451 times at the time we filed the case; nearly all of the citations were by independent researchers around the world, demonstrating that these publications are widely recognized and relied upon in the field.  The significance of his work was confirmed in the following quote from a recommender, [Client] identified novel drug targets for the treatment of both of […] pervasive and problematic diseases; these discoveries lead to improvements in both diagnosis and treatment. These techniques also aid in the understanding of neurological diseases, and advances in this type of technology contribute to the overall health of the United States, as, according to the Epilepsy Foundation, 150,000 residents of the United States contract epilepsy every year.[Client]’s research [….] contributes greatly to medical research in addition to the field of neurology.”  Through extensive documentation, we were able to successfully argue that our client would serve the national interest to a significantly greater degree than others with similar education and experience. His NIW petition was approved in 3 months and16 days.
