Success Stories: A Materials Science Expert from Rwanda Obtains NIW Status Confirmation in 5 Months, Thanks to Our Team’s Case Preparation Strategy
Client’s Testimonial:
“Thanks so much for your continued assistance. Your professionalism and competence were beyond my wildest dreams. The first firm I approached told me that my case was not strong enough to be approved. On the other hand, you not only told me the opposite, you got me approved in less than six months. Furthermore, you continued to answer questions on the I-485 process even though I had not retained you for that part. You have my full support and recommendation to anybody needing a National Interest Waiver (NIW) green card.”
On May 19th, 2022, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Postdoctoral Appointee in the Field of Materials Chemistry (Approval Notice).
General Field: Materials Chemistry
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Appointee
Country of Origin: Rwanda
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: North Carolina
Approval Notice Date: May 19th, 2022
Processing Time: 5 months, 7 days
Case Summary:
An NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition was to be filed for a materials chemistry expert from Rwanda. With a Ph.D. in the area, he was working as a postdoctoral appointee on developing materials with superior catalytic properties to improve the electrochemical performance of different energy conversion and storage technologies. His work would help in reducing their overall cost and contributing to their widespread commercialization. This meant that his proposed endeavor was of great importance because he worked to enhance the capabilities of a variety of electrochemical energy conversion devices, mainly solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC), thereby reducing global reliance on fossil fuels for energy production.
At the same time, his proposed endeavor also has broad implications for the United States in that it supports national goals for the development of more efficient, eco-friendly, and cost-effective power generation technologies. It was due to the national importance of his research that it has been supported with funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL).
Academically, his work has resulted in 9 peer-reviewed journal articles (7 of them first-authored) which have been cited a total of 47 times according to Google Scholar. Thus his 5 years of research in the area directly related to his proposed endeavor of developing materials with superior catalytic properties has landed his expertise giving him an upper hand in the field and the 4 letters of recommendation were further proof of his valuable work.
Since the NIW is a kind of nonimmigrant visa for individuals whose work is of interest to the United States, we make sure to provide sufficient evidence of that fact in our clients’ petitions. This is what helped him secure the approval in less than 6 months of application. We are thus grateful that he chose our firm and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
