Client’s Testimonial:
“Dears, thank you very much for your help and support… I`m very very happy.”
On March 28th, 2022, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for an Assistant Professor in the Field of Electrical Engineering (Approval Notice).
General Field: Electrical Engineering
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Assistant Professor
Country of Origin: Colombia
Country of Residence at the Time of Filing: Brazil
Approval Notice Date: March 28th, 2022
Processing Time: 1 month, 27 days
Case Summary:
Armed with a Ph.D. in electrical engineering, a client came to us for his NIW (National Interest Waiver) case filing. He hailed from Colombia and his proposed endeavor was to design and test integrated circuits in order to apply them to high-energy physics instrumentation, IoT devices, energy harvesting, cancer detection, and biosensors. A quick background search helped us understand that his research was very valuable to the United States because it ensured that IoT infrastructure is sufficient to meet the ever-increasing demand for IoT devices. He also sought to expand the range of IoT devices to reach previously unaddressed applications.
We could see that this proposed endeavor also has broad implications for the United States, a nation in which the IoT market continues to rapidly expand but nonetheless well underperforms its potential. This meant that his project was already aligned with U.S. interests, thus satisfying the 1st prong of the National Interest Waiver process.
Our team further looked into his academic and professional career to collect relevant data for his petition. We found that his research has resulted in 5 peer-reviewed journal articles (2 of them first-authored) and 20 peer-reviewed conference papers (6 of them first-authored). And publications have been cited a total of 162 times according to Google Scholar. Furthermore, his study has received funding from The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). This was a clear indication of global interest in his work.
Thus, considering his record of successful research in an area that significantly furthers U.S. interests, and the fact that he had the required educational and professional skills, we were able to show that our client was eligible for the NIW status, which he received in just 55 days from filing. We thank him for his trust in us and wish him all the very best for life ahead.
