Success Stories: In a Short Period of 5 Months, NIW Approval was Received for a Chinese Senior Applied Engineer in Electrical Engineering with Our Outstanding Service

On March 4th, 2022, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Senior Applied Engineer in the Field of Electrical Engineering (Approval Notice).

General Field: Electrical Engineering

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Senior Applied Engineer

Country of Origin: China

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: New Jersey

Approval Notice Date: March 4th, 2022

Processing Time: 5 months

Case Summary:

“[The client’s] work in this project has several benefits for improving the automatic inventory processes in warehouses in the United States through the development of UAVs with practical and effective localization and mapping systems for inventory work. [Client’s] work provides a solution to this error of retail shrinkage by improving inventory methods through the use of RFID-enabled RFUAVs. By automating the inventory process, [client’s] work prevents monetary losses that are caused by human error, thereby ensuring the growth and success of retail markets in the United States.”

This is a statement provided by an expert in the field of electrical engineering for one of our clients from China, a senior applied engineer, who came to us back in 2020 asking for help with his NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition. Our client’s proposed endeavor was to design localization and mapping algorithms that improve the performance of autonomous robots using his expertise with unmanned aerial vehicles, aerial robotics, and radio-frequency identification technology to advance their commercial utilization. This meant that his proposed endeavor also has broad implications for the United States.

The use of RFID technology in the retail sector is expected to increase significantly, with retailers looking to incorporate the technology to improve operations and address the changing shopping experience, which was affected drastically by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, our team did not face much difficulty proving the ongoing national interest in his research and with a few other details such as his academic and professional background, we were able to prepare his petition letter for filing.

We made sure that the adjudicating authorities knew that his work has resulted in 5 peer-reviewed journal articles and 4 peer-reviewed conference papers and that these papers have been cited all over the world a total of 167 times according to Google Scholar. Interestingly, he had also been invited to conduct peer reviews some 27 times in the past indicating how well-known and reliable he has come to be in the field.

Thus, when we received the approval in just 5 months, and that too without an RFE, we were very happy. The approval led to a labor certification waiver along with an exemption from a permanent job offer. We are grateful to our team for their tireless efforts in making this possible. We also thank and congratulate our client for his trust in our firm. We look forward to furthering possible collaborations with him.
