Case Summary:

An assistant professor working in the field of clinical epidemiology hired North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) to file an I-140 petition under the EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) visa category. Despite the Request for Evidence that the USCIS issued (which we responded to promptly and efficiently), they only spent a little over eight months adjudicating the petition before granting their approval. Our client is now more than halfway through the green card process.

The Long Road to EB-2 NIW Approval:

Immigrant Visa Processing:

Because our client resides outside the United States, she is not eligible to file an I-485 application (final step in the green card process) and instead, has to undergo Immigrant Visa Processing at an American consulate or embassy. Upon approval of our client’s I-140, her case was forwarded to the National Visa Center (NVC). Our client had to pay the filing fees and submit the relevant paperwork in order to get her case forwarded to the relevant U.S. embassy or consulate. Assuming our client does well at the scheduled interview appointment, she will receive her immigrant visa stamp, which allows her and her dependents to enter the United States as permanent residents. We wish her the best with this and look forward to welcoming her into the country as an official green card holder.
