Case Summary:

A postdoctoral research associate from Iran hired North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) to help him attain a green card. His doctoral degree and extensive experience working in the field of bioengineering made him a suitable candidate for EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver).

Petition Presentation:

Our job was to demonstrate to the USCIS that our client’s work is significant to the United States and that his presence in the country is mandatory to the advancement of the field of bioengineering. We started off by urging our client to ask other experts in his field for recommendation letters. The five letters that he managed to obtain were included in our well-balanced EB-2 NIW presentation. We used these letters to verify our client’s various professional accomplishments. Here are several examples:

When we filed our NIW petition, our client’s work had attained 63 citations and information gleaned from his 8 published papers had significantly advanced the work of other researchers in the field.

Final Step:

The USCIS look longer than expected to adjudicate our NIW petition. We raised a service request on our client’s behalf when the average processing time went beyond the norm. Overall, our client waited a little over 11 months to receive an approval notice from Texas Service Center. We are pleased that they ultimately granted their approval. We recently helped our client file an I-485 application (last step in the green card process), and are currently helping him respond to a Request for Evidence (RFE) notice issued by the USCIS. We look forward to reaching the approaching green card finish line with our client.
