Case Summary:

A senior engineer from Iran hired North America Immigration Law Group (WeGreened.com) to file an EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition on his behalf. With an M.Sc. from a university in his birth country of Iran and a Ph.D. from one of the top institutions in the United States, our client possessed the prerequisite educational background to file his case under EB-2 NIW. His extensive experience in the field of electrical engineering studying microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), as well as investigating carbon nanotubes, 2D material nanoelectronics, and wearable stress reducing devices also played a role in qualifying him under this visa category.

To bolster our NIW petition, we incorporated recommendation letters volunteered by specialists in our client’s field. One of these recommenders wrote, “These repeated successes in [Client’s] previous work provide a veritable guarantee that he will continue to advance the field as a whole. [Client’s] work has benefited the field as a whole and has been especially pertinent to financial interests in the United States.” These letters, and other aspects of our client’s professional achievements (citation record and publication count), served as evidence that our client’s research is essential to the United States’ biomedical research and advancement efforts.

As the adjudication timeline went beyond the average processing time, we raised a service request on our client’s behalf. The USICS responded by saying that the case was in line to be reviewed and a little over a month later, they granted their approval. We congratulate our client on overcoming this significant hurdle in the green card process, and we wish him all the best in the final step towards permanent residency.
