Success Stories: NIW Petition Approved in Just 27 Days for Computer Scientist from Iran in the Field of Networking
Client’s Testimonial:
“Thank you so much for the good news. I still could not believe it happened. You made my day! :)”
On September 1st, 2016, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Computer Scientist in the Field of Networking (Approval Notice).
General Field: Computer Science
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Computer Scientist
Country of Origin: Iran
Service Center: Texas Service Center (TSC)
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Massachusetts
Approval Notice Date: September 1st, 2016
Processing Time: 27 Days
Case Summary:
With a doctoral degree and numerous accolades in the bag, our client (a computer scientist from Iran) was a suitable candidate for the national interest waiver. She hired North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) to help her file an EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition on her behalf and judging from the approval notice that she received just 27 days after filing, we did an excellent job.
Building a strong case:
Our client’s EB-2 NIW petition contained a wealth of information on her various achievements. For instance, we noted the 6 journal articles and 4 conference articles to her name, the 83 times her work was cited by other researchers, and the 10 times she assessed the work of her peers. Furthermore, we noted her impactful work in the field of computer science, most notably on the development of algorithms and software for use in optical networks. We demonstrated that our client’s research results have directly contributed to the enhancement of optical networks and optical fiber networks used in high speed internet. Additionally, her research efforts in the areas of networking, internet technology, and data exchange and storage contribute to improved network technologies, internet traffic demands, data transfer, and internet communication in the United States.
Adding additional evidence:
Although we had built a strong EB-2 NIW case for our client, we needed to make sure that it was airtight. We did this by including recommendation letters volunteered by five experts working in the field of computer science. According to one of these experts: “More and more consumers are looking to take advantage of these rapid internet connections, making it necessary to implement more efficient infrastructure. Thankfully, with [Client’s] sustained research presence, this is attainable.”
Obtaining petition approval:
Because we were able to prove that not many other similarly qualified researchers can produce research results of the same caliber, the USCIS was persuaded to approve our client’s EB-2 NIW petition. We congratulate her for overcoming this milestone in the green card process, and we thank her for choosing our law firm to represent not just her EB-2 NIW case, but her I-485 application as well (which was approved not long after, making her an official American permanent resident).
