Success Stories: Our Firm Helped an Iranian Research Professor in the Field of Applied Physics Secure NIW Approval, Despite RFE
Client’s Testimonial:
"Thank you so much for the help and support in getting approval. Special thank in creating a strong response for RFE.”
On December 31st, 2019, we received another NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Research Professor in the Field of Applied Physics (Approval Notice).
General Field: Applied Physics
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Research Professor
Country of Origin: Iran
Approval Notice Date: December 31st, 2019
Processing Time: 13 months, 23 days
Case Summary:
As an expert in the field of applied physics, our client’s research focuses on the design and fabrication of optical fibers by extending her research on silicon photonics. Her research in this area is of great importance because it improves the efficiency of high-speed communications. We worked with our client carefully and presented her various achievements to the USCIS in a clear and concise manner.
Apart from completing successful research in the field, our client has also published 8 peer-reviewed journal articles (4 of them first-authored), and 6 conference papers that collected 71 citations by the time when we were ready to file her case. She has also conducted a review for a distinguished journal. The fact that her papers being published in the top journals and that her peers leveraged her research demonstrated that our client’s work is widely recognized and relied upon in her field. We incorporated the related material into our client’s petition letter, and provided in-depth analysis to show the merit of her endeavor.
Alongside the aforementioned information, we included 5 letters of recommendation signed by other influential researchers. These letters fully corroborate the independent and objective evidence that demonstrate our client’s original contributions. According to one of these recommenders: “Optical fiber is vital for technologies such as computer networking and telecommunications. It is also central to certain remote sensing methods and power transmission methods, including medical sensing and imaging technology. [Client’s] research therefore has far-reaching implications for many aspects of modern society and is sure to continue producing scientific gains in this field of study.”
Although we presented a strong case to the USCIS, our client’s petition was issued a Request For Evidence (RFE). With our experience of securing over 16,000 I-140 approvals, we put together a solid response which eventually led to the case approval after 13 months and 23 days. We are glad that our hard work paid off and, we thank our client for choosing us to be a part of his success.
