“Thank you so much for submitting the case for me. I was pleasantly surprised to receive it yesterday, for I was under the impression that the processing timeline was anywhere between 12-14 months. Once again, thank you so much for your service.”

On April 11th, 2022, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Postdoctoral Associate in the Field of Molecular Biology (Approval Notice).

General Field: Molecular Biology

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Associate

Country of Origin: India

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: New Jersey

Approval Notice Date: April 11th, 2022

Processing Time: 5 months, 23 days

Case Summary:

In October 2021, we filed an NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition for an expert in molecular biology from India. She was a postdoctoral associate in the area and was working on systematically characterizing genes and pathways involved in cancer development and progression and validating them using laboratory-based and relevant animal models to study biological and clinical phenotypes. She wanted to do this to identify novel molecular targets for cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment modalities. Thus, we recognized that her proposed endeavor is of great importance because of its value in the global fight against cancer.

At the same time, we realized that her proposed endeavor also has broad implications for the United States, since her work is concerned with identifying novel biomarkers and developing treatment strategies for advanced breast cancer. It is due to its clear national importance, her research has been supported with funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) via several grants.

On the other hand, she has been academically very productive and her work has resulted in 7 peer-reviewed journal articles (2 of them first-authored) that have been cited a total of 279 times according to Google Scholar. She has also been regularly invited to conduct peer reviews for authoritative in the field and has completed at least 60 reviews to date.

Due to her expertise and record of success, she has come to be considered a leader in the field of molecular biology. Her expertise and respected position in the field are evident in her being appointed to leadership positions, as she serves on the editorial board of several international journals of repute in her area of expertise.

Thus, while trying to prove that her research is of interest to the United States, we gave detailed descriptions of 4 of her key projects as evidence of her contributions to and expertise in the field of molecular biology.

All of these bits of evidence helped us win the NIW approval without an RFE and that too in a short period of fewer than 6 months. We are thankful to our client to have chosen us, and we wish her the best in all future endeavors.
