“They are highly professional and I am very much happy with their hard work.”

On January 11th, 2022, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Senior Process Engineer in the Field of Chemical Engineering (Approval Notice).

General Field: Chemical Engineering

Position at the Time of Case Filing: Senior Process Engineer

Country of Origin: Bangladesh

State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Indiana

Approval Notice Date: January 11th, 2022

Processing Time: 13 months

Case Summary:

Our client from Bangladesh, currently appointed as a senior process engineer in the field of chemical engineering approached us back in February 2020 seeking our support with filing an NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition. He had made significant contributions to the field and his intended research focused on designing, modeling, optimizing, and economically evaluating processes included in oil and gas processes. As the USCIS requires that any NIW applicant must prove that their work has substantial merit and national importance, we thoroughly assessed his research background and deduced that his proposed endeavor is of great importance because it is pertinent for meeting global natural gas demands and is relevant to the national petrochemical industry.

We were certain that there is an urgent national need for him, considering that the industry is a major contributor to the United States economy and that the United States is reliant on natural gas production for energy. Thus, we collated all the applicable data from his credentials and put them together in his NIW petition packet as follows:

  • His work resulted in 5 peer-reviewed journal articles (3 of them first-authored), 1 peer-reviewed conference publication, and 1 first-authored book chapter in well-established journals.
  • Altogether his work amassed 12 citations by researchers from around the globe, demonstrating the global influence of his work.
  • We incorporated four recommendation letters, and one of his recommenders stated: “It is apparent that [client’s] work on these topics is valuable to the United States, where natural gas is abundant. The Department of Energy reports that the United States is the top producer of natural gas in the world. His work is therefore central to the larger national strategy of utilizing the natural gas resources present in the United States to maximize the country’s energy productivity.”

All of this evidence arranged together made his case solid, and he received the NIW approval from USCIS though he had to wait for a longer duration, however, his case didn’t receive any RFE. We are grateful for our client’s continuing trust in us, and his cooperation throughout the process. We congratulate and wish him the best of luck as he advances in his chosen field and profits the United States as a whole.
