Case Summary:

Nearly 3.5 months after North America Immigration Law Group (NAILG) filed an EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) for an Italian postdoctoral fellow, she received the good news that her petition had been approved. We are especially pleased at the short timeline (it usually takes the USCIS between 4-9 months to adjudicate I-140 petitions) and we have no doubt that our meticulous presentation of our client’s solid credentials paved the way for case approval. Amongst other things, these are some of the main points we included in her NIW petition:

  • The four recommendation letters that our client gathered from her peers were of great importance to her petition. These letters advocated for the approval of her NIW and supported our argument that our client is an asset to the United States. According to one of our client’s recommenders, our client “…has paved the way to next-generation anticancer, anti-leukemia, and anti-inflammatory therapeutics through her experiments with metal complexes and nanosystems.” Another recommender stated that: “She is a medicinal chemist of the highest quality whose research must in no way be impeded or delayed.”
  • We also noted the 221 citations to our client’s 22 published papers and the 10 times she conducted peer reviews for several scientific journals.
  • Furthermore, we carefully detailed her work on the application of metal complexes and nanosystems in medical treatments. We left no room for doubt that our client’s research results have directly contributed to the advancement of treatment options for cancer patients. We also proved that her medicinal chemistry research efforts are contributing to the United States’ public health by introducing metal complexes and nanosystems as feasible cancer therapies.
We congratulate our client on this fantastic win and wish her the best as she continues to conduct groundbreaking research in the United States.
