Case Summary:

As an expert in the field of computational biology, our NIW (National Interest Waiver) client’s proposed endeavor was to continue his research on state-of-the-art computational biology approaches for disclosing gene-expression regulation mechanisms at the molecular level in health and disease. This research would have helped to deepen understanding of embryonic development and examine the therapeutic mechanisms of diseases such as cancer. This research advancing his proposed endeavor was of great importance because it relates to extremely important topics in early development, RNA biology, and the study of serious diseases including but not limited to cancer.

So, when our team began prepping his application after the formalities of signing the retainer were out of the way, they utilized every little piece of relevant information collected from his documents. These included:

• Details of his proposed endeavor and its relevance to the United States.
• We showed that due to its clear national importance, his research has in fact been supported with funding from the National Institute of Health (NIH); the National Institute of General Medical(NIGMS); and the United States Department of Agriculture.
• He has also been invited to conduct reviews for scientific journals and has completed at least 14 reviews to date.

To reduce the incidence of this type of cancer, it is of vital importance to detect biological features at its earliest stages. [Client’s] research is critical in this respect, as it focuses on determining the risk associated with pre-neoplastic lesions in the colon to determine how they should be viewed and treated clinically. [Client’s] research facilitates the early diagnosis and clinical treatment of CRC, which is beneficial to the public health and life quality of in the U.S. nation.
