Success Story: EB2 NIW Approval for a Cell and Molecular Biology Postdoctoral Fellow in 15 weeks

On May 31st, 2013, we received another EB2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) Approval for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the field of Cell and Molecular Biology (Approval Notice)

General Field: Cell and Molecular Biology
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Fellow
National Origin: United Kingdom
Service Center: Texas Service Center (TSC)
State Residing at the Time of Filing: Maryland
Approval Notice Date: May 31, 2013
Processing Time: 15 weeks

Case Summary:

The average processing time for I-140 cases is 4-6 months. But on many occasions, we have cases approved far faster than the average processing time.

This client is a postdoctoral fellow from the United Kingdom in the field of cell and molecular biology. His work has specifically focused on studies of protein functions and interactions at a molecular biology level including the functional analysis of archaeon Methanocaldococcus jannaschii RNA polymerase and protein interactions between the human immune system and human respiratory pathogen proteins, as well as the identification and characterization of the centrosomal protein components and their interactions in elegans embryo. In order to ensure the success of this case, we submitted extensive documentation of the client’s highly significant contributions to the field of cell and molecular biology, including his authorship of two peer-reviewed journal articles, one of which is first-authored. Additionally, our firm drafted and submitted several recommendation letters from experts in our client’s shared field. One of the independent recommenders noted, “In my professional opinion, the importance of [the Petitioner’s] continued research is in the national interest of the United States and I regard him as an individual of extraordinary ability.”  With the strong petition letter and recommendation letters we prepared, his NIW case was approved in fifteen weeks.
